Wyatt Earp was a legendary figure of the American Old West, known for his roles as a lawman, gambler, and gunslinger, born on March 19, 1848, in Monmouth, Illinois. He became famous for his participation in the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral in Tombstone, Arizona, on October 26, 1881. This confrontation pitted Wyatt, his brothers Virgil and Morgan, and their friend Doc Holliday against the Clanton and McLaury brothers, who were part of a group of outlaws known as the "Cowboys."
